Mark Brennan, born 1954 in Cleveland, Ohio, started to play guitar when he was just 10 years old. Like with so many other musician from that time his first influences were from the Beatles and the Rolling Stones. Soon he was playing in bands together with his brother, who played drums.
During his High school years Mark Brennan got to know and love acoustic guitar, and he got influenced by The Eagles, CSN, Dan Folgelberg, James Taylor, Joni Mitchell, etc. In the 70′s he played in a popular Cleveland band, The Brennan-Cosma Band, a group that played a mix of rock and acoustic music. During this time Mark took up classical guitar and developed his finger style technique.
In 1980 Mark Brennan graduated at the Cleveland Stat University with a Bachelor of Music in Classical guitar performance. He also studied music composition, and took many music education classes. After his studies Mark took up guitar teaching, electric, acoustic and classical guitar. On the moment Mark Brennan runs a private guitar teaching practice from his home in Fairview Park, Ohio.
In the later 80′s Mark Brennan started to play rock guitar, he joined a group called Polyphony, playing music from groups like Yes, Genesis, Kansas, ELP, Styx, along with a set of rock originals.
Currently, Mark is in the regionally successful Pink Floyd tribute band Wish You Were Here. The band performs faithful renderings of the Floyd classics spanning their entire catalog, along with a strong visual stage show. Here, Mark displays his command of the David Gilmour style.
