There are several ways to clean your guitar and it sometimes depends on what kind of guitar you have. Grime and dirt are very common due to the build up of sweat over time; however, it is very easy to get rid of. A good time to clear your guitar is when you change your guitar strings. Here’s one approach:
First, remove your old tired guitar strings and take a look at the state of your frets. You will see a lot of dirt along the fret edges and in the cracks. Take your pick or something similar and scrape out some of the gunk. Next, get a warm sponge or cloth with a few drops of ivory liquid and just work the cloth over the guitar neck. Finally, dry down the fret board with a dry. Make sure you get all the moisture off.
Be careful if your fret board is dyed (common to the lower priced guitars) that you don’t rub too hard scrubbing off the dye. Just use warm water and some mild detergent. Another option is use an old toothbrush but once again be careful not to scrub too hard.
You might like to invest in a guitar neck cleaner solution the next time you’re out getting a set of guitar strings which is available at most good music stores.
Well, after you clean your guitar you want to play it as well, and to learn how to play your guitar, or to improve you already existing guitar shills, it might be a good idea to get a Team Method guitar course
