Classical Acoustic Guitar

by Chris Fiddleton

Many people start playing guitar back in high school but not many people start playing classical guitar until later in life. If you just so happen to be one of those people then you are in for a surprise because classical acoustic guitar is amazingly fun! Playing the classical acoustic guitar is considered by many to be a sort of art form and for good reasons, just do a search on the web and you will discover that the classical guitar has a history all its own.

Edgar Cruz - Bohemian Rhapsody (classical guitar)

Classical guitar differs from the regular acoustic guitar in the way that it is played. In order to be good at the classical guitar, the player must become one with the guitar. You need to feel the music and the rhythm of the guitar as you strum along. This might sound sill at first but you will soon figure out that it is nothing to laugh at! If you can learn to accomplish this little feat , then the music that you play will have more passion and feeling to it.

The key to playing the classical guitar well is to feel the music and let it become a part of you. Really sit back in a quiet place and practice this, it is not the easiest of tasks and will take some effort on your part to make it happen. The trick to this is to not worry about missing any notes and just get used to feeling the music in your soul. This might sound funny to you at first but when you really do it I promise you will notice your playing will sound much more beautiful and peaceful.

This is not going to be something that you can just learn how to do in a matter of hours or weeks even. Many people practice the classical acoustic guitar for years to get to the level they are at and you will be no different. Just remember you get out of it what you put into it and if you just take 20 minutes a day and sit down and just play you will be amazed at the progress you will make.

There are many places on the internet that you can go to find practice material for the classical acoustic guitar. If you want to spend a little money you find tons of guides and sheet music at your local music store. If you look hard enough though there are plenty of free resources on the internet to fulfill your needs.
